| Beschrijving keerzijde | Hecate triformis depicted standing frontally, her three conjoined bodies each facing a different direction, rendered in the characteristic trifigure composition associated with this chthonic deity so prominently venerated at Tralles. She stands between a lighted altar to her left and a dog at her feet to her right, both attributes emblematic of her role as goddess of crossroads and the underworld. The reverse legend encircles the field, naming the city of the Trallians and recording the local magistrate responsible for the issue. The overall composition is executed in the provincial Greek die-cutting style of the Lydian conventus under Gordian III. |
