Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal perspective. The effigy displays characteristic third-century Roman provincial portraiture, with the laurel wreath clearly articulated atop the emperor's head and military cuirass visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor in full imperial titulature.
