| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from behind, rendered in typical provincial workshop style. The radiate crown is visible atop the imperial effigy, and the paludamentum is fastened at the shoulder. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. |
