| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from the rear, with the radiate crown prominently rendered above the head. The paludamentum drapes over the left shoulder, and the cuirass is visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend runs around the periphery of the field, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature. |
