| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal view. The emperor's effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath atop short-cropped hair, with pauldron-draped shoulders and a visible cuirass suggesting imperial military authority. A circular countermark or control mark is visible in the right field. The encircling Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially legible due to surface wear and the coin's irregular strike. |
