| Obverse description | Confronted busts of the co-regents: to the right, the radiate, draped, and cuirassed effigy of Emperor Gordian III seen from the rear, and to the left, the diademed and draped bust of Empress Tranquillina. The two portrait busts face one another in a dynastic pairing composition characteristic of Roman provincial coinage. The surrounding legend names both rulers with their imperial titulature in Greek. |

| Reverse description | Draped, veiled, and turreted bust of Tyche, the tutelary deity of Edessa, facing left, symbolising the fortune and prosperity of the city. Before her stands a figure identified as Marsyas (or a similar deity), depicted upright on a short column, carrying a wineskin over his shoulder, with an altar visible in the field. The reverse legend in Greek identifies the mint city and its colonial status. The composition reflects the civic pride typical of Roman provincial bronze coinage from Mesopotamia. |
