Reverse description Zeus enthroned to the left, his figure rendered in the classical seated divine type standard to provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor. In his outstretched right hand he holds a Nike, and in his left a long sceptre rising vertically behind him. The magistrate's name and civic ethnic appear in the field and around the coin: ϹΤΡΑ ΜΕΝΑΝΔΡΟ in the field divided across registers, with ΑΠΟΛΛ/ωΝΙΑ-ΤωΝ identifying the issuing city of Apollonia Salbace. The reverse legend thus records both the strategos Menandros responsible for the issue and the civic authority of the mint.
