Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her elaborately waved and ridged hair arranged in the characteristic Severan coiffure with horizontal bands of crimped locks pulled back to a bun at the nape of the neck. The empress is depicted with finely rendered drapery over the shoulder and chest. The portrait is enclosed within a dotted border, with the Greek legend disposed around the periphery of the field.

Reverse description Demeter enthroned, seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, her figure draped in flowing robes. She extends her right hand forward holding a bundle of grain ears, while her left arm cradles a cornucopia, emblems of her dominion over agriculture and abundance. A ground line is visible beneath the throne. The scene is framed by a dotted border with the civic ethnic legend of Nacolea inscribed around the periphery.
