(Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Severus Antoninus)
Reverse description Heracles standing facing, head turned to the right, rendered in the heroic nude tradition of Hellenistic coinage. He holds a club downward in his right hand, drapes the Nemean lion skin over his left arm, and cradles the infant Telephus, his mythological son by Auge, a subject particularly meaningful given Cotiaeum's regional Mysian connections. The figure is placed within the field with the civic legend disposed around the periphery.
