She holds a ship's rudder in her lowered right hand and a cornucopia in her left arm, symbolising the prosperity and fortune of the city. The figure stands on a ground line within a beaded border, flanked by the multi-line Greek magistrates' legend distributed around the field. The composition is characteristic of the civic bronze coinage of Lydia under the Severan dynasty, with the inscription naming the two local strategoi responsible for the issue. |
