| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled in the characteristic Severan style, drawn back and gathered at the nape of the neck. The empress is depicted with a graceful profile, wearing layered drapery visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend reads ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ, identifying her as Julia Augusta, and runs along the beaded border of the coin. |

| Reverse description | An agonistic table rendered in three-quarter perspective occupies the central field, upon which rest two prize purses flanked by two agonistic crowns, each enclosing a palm branch symbolising victory. Beneath the table, a vase or hydria is depicted between two aspergilla (ritual sprinklers used in sacred games), evoking the religious and ceremonial context of the contests. The composition reflects the neocorate status of Philadelphia and its role as host of major athletic and religious festivals. The encircling legend attributes the issue to the first archon Claudius Capito and identifies the city as the Flavian Philadelphia of the Neocorate. |
