Between the two personifications stands an altar, symbolising the ceremonial bond of concord (Homonoia) between the two cities. The composition is rendered in the elaborate, multi-figure style characteristic of high-value provincial civic bronze coinage of the Severan period. The field and exergue carry the divided legend ΛΑΟΔΙΚΕΩΝ ϹΜΥΡΝΑΙΩΝ with ΟΜΟΝΟΙΑ and the civic era date ΤΟ ΠΗ (year 88). |
