Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, depicted in the typical provincial style of Asia Minor with naturalistic portrait features. The effigy shows the emperor with short curled hair surmounted by a laurel wreath, and a modest beard characteristic of his coinage. The encircling Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The portrait is rendered in moderate relief consistent with civic bronze coinage of the Antonine period.
