Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the realist portraiture style characteristic of Antonine provincial coinage. The emperor's features display the customary bearded visage with a wreath of laurel encircling the head. The Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan. The die engraving, though somewhat worn, conveys the authoritative imperial effigy standard for coins struck under the Conventus of Ephesus.
