She holds a ship's rudder downward in her right hand, symbolising guidance and destiny, and a cornucopia (horn of plenty) in her left arm, emblematic of prosperity. The Greek legend ΤΥΧΗ ΤΡΑΛΛΙΑΝΩΝ (Fortune of the Trallians) is disposed around the figure in the field. The surface carries a heavily worn, mottled green and reddish patina. |
