The figure is rendered in the conventional provincial idiom, occupying the full height of the reverse field. The Greek inscription of the local magistrate and civic ethnikon encircles the design, naming the strategos Nikephorion and the Poroselenite community. The reverse type reflects the widespread veneration of Asclepius across the Greek cities of Asia Minor during the imperial period. |
