Obverse description Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage. The emperor's effigy is depicted with a radiate crown, the drapery and cuirass visible at the shoulder. The obverse legend runs around the bust in Greek characters, identifying the ruler as Publius Licinius Gallienus Caesar. The portrait exhibits the characteristic vigorous engraving of mid-third century Lydian provincial issues.
