| 背面描述 | Amazon Smyrna, the eponymous founder of the city, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left, clad in a chlamys and holding a double axe (bipennis) in one hand and a pelta (Amazon's crescent shield) in the other. In the field, a small tetrastyle temple with four columns is visible, referencing Smyrna's status as a thrice-neocorate city. At her feet rests a ship's prow, symbolising the maritime prominence of Smyrna. The reverse legend encircles the composition, identifying the city and its reigning strategos. |

Smyrna held the title of neokoros — official keeper of an imperial cult temple — three times over by the Severan period, a distinction fiercely contested among the great cities of Asia Minor and periodically revoked or reconfirmed by the Senate in Rome. The magistrate name preserved in the legend, Diogenes, helps anchor this issue within the city's civic administrative sequence, though his precise tenure within Alexander's reign remains unresolved in the epigraphic record.
