She holds a rudder in her right hand, symbolising destiny and guidance, and a cornucopia in her left, denoting fertility and plenty. The figure is rendered in the draped style typical of Greek provincial civic coinage of the Severan era. The encircling legend proudly proclaims the neocorate status of Magnesia ad Maeandrum in honour of Artemis. |
