She extends her right hand holding a ship's rudder, symbolising the city's maritime prosperity, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The reverse field is broadly rendered in the provincial Greek hammered style, with the ethnic legend disposed around the figure. The coin exhibits well-centred reverse type typical of Bithynian civic issues of the Severan period. |
