| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, is depicted seated to the left upon a throne or rocky base, her turreted crown identifying her as the Tyche of Tium. She extends her right hand holding a ship's rudder, symbolising the city's maritime prosperity, while her left arm cradles a large cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The reverse field is broadly rendered in the provincial Greek hammered style, with the ethnic legend disposed around the figure. The coin exhibits well-centred reverse type typical of Bithynian civic issues of the Severan period. |
