| Beschrijving keerzijde | Dionysus, the god of wine, depicted standing facing left in a relaxed contrapposto stance, holding a cantharus (wine cup) in his extended right hand from which a libation may pour. At his feet to the lower left crouches a panther, his sacred animal, gazing upward toward the deity. The god is lightly draped, with the composition filling the flan in the typical style of Bithynian civic bronze coinage. The ethnic legend of the issuing city frames the reverse field, identifying the mint as Caesarea Germanica. |
