| Obverse description | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled in the characteristic Severan style with a bun at the nape. The empress is depicted with fine classical portraiture, wearing a chiton with visible drapery at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend is divided around the bust, reading ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΔΟΜΝΑ ϹΕΒΑ, identifying her as Julia Domna Augusta. The coin retains a rich green patina consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. |

| Reverse description | Omphale standing facing with head turned to the right, depicted in the guise of the Lydian queen who enslaved Heracles. She rests her right hand upon a club set atop a bucranium, and holds a bow in her extended left hand, iconographic attributes borrowed from Heracles himself. The composition alludes to the mythological tradition of role-reversal between Heracles and Omphale, particularly relevant to Heraclea Pontica as a city tracing its mythological heritage to Heracles. The reverse legend ΗΡΑΚΛΗΑϹ ΠΟΝΤΩ identifies the issuing city in the genitive, meaning 'of Heraclea Pontica'. |
