| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her hair elaborately waved and gathered in a bun at the nape of the neck in the characteristic Severan style. The empress is depicted with drapery visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The circular legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΔΟΜΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the Augusta by name and title. The portrait is rendered in the competent provincial style typical of the Aphrodisian civic mint during the Severan period. |
