| 背面描述 | The goddess Mâ, the principal deity of Comana Pontica, stands facing with head radiate, her right hand resting upon a large shield set on the ground and her left hand grasping a club. The composition reflects the warlike, syncretic character of this Anatolian goddess, assimilated to aspects of Cybele and Bellona in Roman provincial iconography. The reverse legend identifying the city and regnal year is distributed around the field. The flan is of irregular shape typical of provincial Pontic bronze coinage of this period. |
