A small figure of Nike is positioned beside his head, flying right and extending a wreath to crown the hero, an iconographic motif associating imperial power with divine victory. The reverse legend naming the magistrate Menippos and the civic ethnic of Alinda runs around the field. The type reflects the widespread use of Heraclean imagery in Carian civic coinage of the Severan period. |
