| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip II facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear. The emperor's portrait is executed in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage, with the laurel wreath and military paludamentum clearly indicated. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within the field, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is typical of Egyptian provincial bronze issues of this period. |
