Obverse description Draped bust of Otacilia Severa, wife of Philip I, facing right, wearing a diadem. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of the Ionian mint of Magnesia ad Maeandrum, with visible drapery folds at the shoulder. The obverse legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters. The flan surface shows characteristic wear and patination consistent with a hammered bronze provincial issue of the mid-third century AD.
