| Obverse description | Draped and diademed bust of Otacilia Severa, wife of Philip I, facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Lydian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The effigy displays careful attention to the imperial coiffure, with the diadem visible across the brow. A Greek legend surrounds the bust, naming the empress in her full titulature. The flan is somewhat irregular, and the surfaces show the characteristic patination of a heavily circulated provincial bronze. |
