The deity is rendered in the classical provincial manner typical of Lydian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The composition emphasises Apollo's role as a healing divinity, the serpent serving as a symbol of medicine and prophecy. The magistrate's name and civic ethnic appear in the surrounding Greek legend, divided across the field. A dotted border frames the reverse design. |
