Obverse description Draped bust of Marcia Otacilia Severa, wife of Philip I, facing right, her hair elaborately waved and coiled, bound with a diadem, with a long lock falling behind the neck. The effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Ionian mint, with folds of the imperial mantle visible at the truncation. The encircling Greek legend reads Μ ΩΤΑΚΙΛΙΑ ϹΕΟΥΗΡΑ ϹΕΒ, identifying the empress by her full titulature. The bust is framed by a prominent beaded border.
