Reverse description A Satyr, wearing a nebris (fawn skin), is depicted seated upon a cippus (a low cylindrical or rectangular stone pillar), facing left. The youthful figure of Dionysus dances to the right, balanced upon the Satyr's raised right foot, in a scene evoking the nurturing of the infant god. A pedum (shepherd's crook) lies on the ground beneath the Satyr's foot. The reverse legend is largely obscure and cannot be reliably transcribed.
