The imperial effigy is rendered in the conventional provincial style of the Antonine period. The circular legend surrounds the portrait in Greek characters.

Reverse description The Phrygian goddess Cybele, turreted and enthroned, seated sideways upon a lion striding to the right, holding a long sceptre in her left hand and a tympanum in her right. The composition reflects the standard provincial iconography of the Magna Mater cult prominent in Phrygia. The legend ΔΟΚΙΜΕΩΝ appears in the upper field and ΜΑΚΕΔΟΝΩΝ in the lower exergual area, identifying the issuing city and its Macedonian colonial honorific.
