| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, depicted three-quarter from the rear, with a short curly beard rendered in the characteristic style of his portraiture. The emperor wears a laurel wreath, military paludamentum, and segmented cuirass with visible pteryges at the shoulder. The circumferential Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading from left to right around the outer field. |
