Obverse description Draped bust of Sabina, wife of Hadrian, facing right, her hair elaborately dressed and piled high upon the head in the Alexandrian court style. The legend ϹΑΒΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ (Sabina Augusta) runs around the periphery. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Alexandrian manner, with the empress depicted with characteristic Roman imperial dignity. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the Hadrianic period.
