| Reverse description | The personification of Moesia Superior stands erect facing left in the centre of the field, her arms extended downward toward the two provincial animals flanking her. To her left stands a bull facing right, and to her right stands a lion facing left, both emblematic of the province's legions. The colonial legend P M S COL VIM appears in the upper field, with the regnal year AN II in the exergue, denoting the second year of the Viminacium colonial era corresponding to 240-241 AD. The composition is characteristic of the long-running Viminacium civic bronze series. |
