| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view common to provincial coinage of this period. The imperial effigy displays a radiate laurel wreath crowning the head, with detailed rendering of the paludamentum and cuirass visible at the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan, partially worn but legible. The portrait is rendered in the robust provincial style typical of the Pergamene mint during the mid-third century AD. |
