| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, presented in three-quarter rear view, a characteristic provincial die-cutting convention of the period. The imperial effigy is rendered with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder, conveying both military authority and divine favour. The circumferential Greek legend surrounds the portrait in the field. The flan shows typical irregular fabric consistent with provincial bronze coinage of Asia Minor under the Severan–Gordian period. |
