She holds a rudder in her extended right hand, symbolic of guidance and destiny, and a cornucopia in her left arm, representing abundance. The scene is enclosed by a dotted border, with the bilingual civic legend inscribed in the exergue and surrounding field, attesting to the joint issue between Ephesus and Alexandria. The composition reflects the high standard of die-cutting characteristic of the Ephesian mint during the reign of Gordian III. |
