Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Julia Maesa facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound, wearing a diadem and draped garment rendered with fine parallel folds at the shoulder and chest. The effigy is depicted in the provincial style typical of Pisidian civic coinage of the Severan period. The circular legend ΙΟΥΛΙΑ ΜΑΙϹΑ ϹΕΒ runs around the periphery, naming the empress-grandmother as Augusta. A beaded border frames the design.
