Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, depicted with characteristic curly hair and beard, encircled by a raised border. The imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage of the late 2nd century AD, with bold relief and expressive facial features.

Reverse description Zeus enthroned to the left, depicted semi-draped and seated upon an ornate throne, extending a patera in his right hand and holding a long sceptre upright in his left. The figure is rendered in a classical style befitting the chief Olympian deity, a common type on Bithynian civic bronzes. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed in the field around the central type, within a raised border.
