| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate bust of Emperor Commodus, draped in cuirass and paludamentum, facing right and seen from the rear, with a long beard rendered in the late Antonine style. The imperial effigy is presented in three-quarter rear view, a relatively uncommon compositional choice for provincial bronze coinage. The obverse legend, distributed around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters, identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. |

In her right hand she holds a rudder, symbol of fortune and navigation, while her left arm supports a cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The ethnic legend ϹΑΜΙΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing civic authority. The composition reflects the standard Tyche iconography widely adopted by Ionian cities under Roman imperial rule. |
