Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, seen from the front. The imperial portrait is rendered in the provincial workshop style typical of Carian civic coinage. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Greek characters, reading ΑΥ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΜΟΔΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his abbreviated titles and name.
