Additional information

Colophon's civic bronze coinage under Caracalla was administered through the local magistracy, with this issue naming Tiberius Claudius Myron in his second term as strategos — the ΤΟ Β indicating a repeated tenure, a distinction the city evidently thought worth advertising on the coin itself. Colophon had long since lost its classical-era prominence by this period, absorbed into the Roman conventus system centered on Ephesus, yet local elites continued funding bronze emissions as a visible marker of civic standing.
