| Beschrijving keerzijde | Apollo standing facing, head turned to the left, nude, his weight resting on his right leg in a relaxed contrapposto pose. The god extends his right hand forward holding a patera, while his left hand holds a laurel branch downward at his side. The Greek civic legend of Augusta Traiana is inscribed around the field, divided on either side of the central figure. The reverse type reflects the importance of the Apollo cult in the religious life of the Thracian city. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Augusta Traiana, the Thracian city refounded under Trajan and named in his honor, was an active provincial mint during the Severan period. Caracalla's long co-reign with Septimius Severus — beginning in 198 when he was elevated to Augustus at age ten — means coins attributed to his name span nearly two decades, and distinguishing early from late issues within that window often requires close attention to titulature rather than portraiture alone.
Varbanov 1069 is not a common attribution, and Augusta Traiana bronzes of this module see genuine collector competition despite modest catalog recognition.
