| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynia et Pontus. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic full beard and mature facial features. A Greek legend encircles the effigy along the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor with his imperial titles. The flan shows some irregularity at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered provincial bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD. |
