Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynia et Pontus. The portrait displays the emperor's characteristic full beard and mature facial features. A Greek legend encircles the effigy along the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor with his imperial titles. The flan shows some irregularity at the edges, consistent with hand-hammered provincial bronze coinage of the mid-second century AD.
