This unusual deity was the central cult figure promoted by the oracle Alexander of Abonoteichus, and its representation on civic coinage of Ionopolis is a hallmark of the city's religious identity during the Antonine period. The circular Greek legend encircles the type within a border, naming the god and the civic ethnonym of the issuing community. |
