Æ30 - Antoninus Pius ΓΡΑ ΑΛΥΟϹ ΤΡΑΛΛΙΑΝΩΝ

Tralles, a prosperous city in the Maeander valley, was granted the right to strike civic bronze under Roman supervision through the conventus system — assizes at which the Roman proconsul of Asia administered justice and, implicitly, legitimized local institutions including the mint. The magistrate name preserved in the obverse legend, likely a local strategos or grammateus, is one of the few records of his existence. No literary source names him.

The ΓΡΑ abbreviation points to a grammateus, the civic secretary responsible for overseeing the issue.
