| Beschrijving keerzijde | Tyche standing facing left, her figure rendered in the round with a modius or turreted crown upon her head, holding a ship's rudder in her right hand and a cornucopia in her left, emblematic of the city's fortune and prosperity. The reverse legend surrounds the central type, distributed around the periphery of the field. The composition is a standard civic type for Nysa in Lydia, following well-established iconographic conventions of Asia Minor provincial bronzes under the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus. Wear and encrustation partially affect the legend and field details. |
