| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the characteristic provincial style of mid-third-century Ionian coinage. The emperor's military dress is indicated by the cuirass and paludamentum, with drapery folds visible at the shoulder and chest. A Greek legend encircles the effigy, naming the emperor by his full titulature. The flan shows the slightly irregular fabric typical of Milesian civic bronzes of this period, with areas of green patination visible on the surviving surfaces. |
